What Reddit Has To Say
Know what I hate about most fitness publications?
They talk about leading a healthy lifestyle like it's the easiest thing in the world to do. To me, this feels like an underhanded way of nudging people into believing that their current condition is entirely their fault.
That's only true if people know what to do and decide to not do it anyway.
Even when you know what to do, it's still isn't easy just because of the sheer amount of hurdles people have to deal with.
Everything that we've discussed up to this point in terms of setting priorities and time management, isn't about making getting in shape easier. It's about decreasing the chances of you falling off the wagon by understanding your current habits.
As the saying goes:
Forewarned is forearmed
But, believe it or not, most people intuitively understand that getting in shape is difficult largely in part because of time constraints. Lack of time is probably the number one reason why people continually put this project off.
Don't believe me?
Take a look at the following post from Reddit.
Yes, "Adulting" is an extreme sport. In fact, my time as an adult on planet Earth so far can be summarized as:
Nobody cares work harder.
Brief Micro Rant...
I want you to think about that for a minute. Does anyone actually care if you're in shape or not?
Most people don't have a vested interest in whether or not you get in shape except for maybe your romantic partner. Even then they have the option of turning off the lights before turning on the Barry White sound track.
If you want to have sex with the lights on and not have it be an act of irrational self confidence, that is all fine and dandy. But you have to want it for yourself because no one else is going to will this outcome into existence for you.
People are willing to accept you as is. They have no skin in this.
This is a tough one because you have to be your own source of motivation in this. You also have to be willing to grind it out before the big payouts start coming your way.

I'm sharing this intel to highlight the fact that what you're doing is commonly understood to be a challenging thing by everyone else in the trenches. This is why I'm advocating for the gradual experimentation approach versus dropping the iron curtain on yourself.
Onward and upward friends.
